Dr.
Sarala Birla
The
Academy has been named after Dr. Sarala Birla, grandmother
of Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of The Aditya Birla
Group. An eminent educationist, Dr. Sarala Birla has made
immense contribution in the field of education, in the
last three decades in a very quiet, low profile way. Under
her stewardship, the family runs some of the best day
schools in the country.
According
to her, "Knowledge for the sake of knowledge
without benefiting fellow beings is a dead end, and
only leads to the blind alley of frustration. Education
is a meaningless ritual, unless it moulds the character
of students and imparts in them a strong sense of values.
Educational institutions have to ensure that students
are so educated that they are developed both physically
and mentally to build a unique nation. We are proud
of our ancient heritage and we have to ensure that our
future is no less glorious."
Our
endeavour
Our
over-arching vision for the Sarala Birla Academy is to
ignite minds and to create in students a love for learning
and continuous development, by making the learning process
an enjoyable experience. The Academys mission is
to help each student reach his full potential and by doing
so, help develop a higher sense of self-esteem in the
student. The Academy will endeavour to equip its students
with life skills that place him first among his equals,
when he steps out into the real world. Our strong belief
is that education need not be a grind, focused
on rote learning. Rather, education ought to be oriented
towards developing a fuller person in body, mind
and intellect, a person imbued with a sense of independence,
commitment and compassion, a person capable of providing
the kind of leadership our society needs.

The
Aditya Birla Group of Schools
The
Aditya Birla Group believes that a sound education is
essential for the progress of the country.
The
Aditya Birla Group of schools has been functioning in
12 states across India, within the environs of our group
companies. Currently, 40,000 children receive quality
education towards a personally fulfilling and socially
useful life. Our group offers opportunities for children
of our employees to gain a good education, which will
enable them to understand their world and surge forward
to ongoing successes. Our schools are affiliated to the
State Education Boards, the Central Board of Secondary
Education (CBSE), CISCE and IB Boards. Every year, we
set aside an annual budget of Rs. 20 crore to educate
several thousand rural children and ensure that no compromises
are made on the quality of education imparted.
The
Sarala Birla Academy is the first school from our group
that will be open to students from internationally minded
families. India is seeing an educational evolution,
similar to the one at the turn of the twentieth century,
where students are once again looking toward educational
institutes outside the country for successful educational
opportunities and careers. This brain drain will affect
the giant strides that India is making toward a competitive
global development. With the demand for Indian teachers
in the U.S.A, U.K. and Europe, it is clear that the
quality of education and development of skills in the
student population of India is at par with global standards.
This school aims at personality development, leadership
skills and the emotional growth of the individual, to
help each student grow to his maximum potential.
To
nurture the leaders of tomorrow, we have instituted
The Aditya Birla Group Scholarship Scheme. We foster
outstanding academic excellence and humane leadership
values, in partnership with select institutions such
as the IITs, BITS (Pilani) and the IIMs.
The
Aditya Birla Scholarship programme is not just about
academic excellence; aspiring scholars are evaluated
on holistic parameters that take on board their extra-curricular
activities, leadership qualities, values, vision and
their dreams.
The
106 Aditya Birla Scholars incubated through this programme
so far, are doing us proud with their achievements.
